BLAZE Newsletter

Riding in wind and rain is never the best of fun, and January is certainly a testing time when it comes to keeping warm and dry. Thankfully, the Blaze Longford jacket is proving invaluable, with its wind and waterproof properties keeping out the worst while the lightweight fabric has enough stretch for comfort – great for lessons or training sessions! There are also plenty of snugly tops and the Curbar gilet to keep you cosy ‘til the spring.

Hot Gossip

Since our launch last August, Blaze has just gone from strength to strength and we were bursting at the seams in our old office. January saw us move to new, larger premises and we have just about sorted out all the usual niggles with getting the phone and broadband connected. So we are all fired up ready for the new spring/summer range which will be in the shops soon, and will be delivered hot from our brand new warehouse and showroom near York. Same phone number, same email, just lots more lovely space!

Blazing a Trail

Our Blaze Academy riders have been busy planning their training as well as getting out and about. Chloe Reynard was the first to record a win – taking the Richmond Equestrian Centre Christmas Puissance in December riding Euro Kenco. The pair cleared 1.60 m in impressive style! The New Year continued where the old left off, with Chloe taking three horses to Rowallan and finishing in the places every day on every horse, qualifying for the 1.30 final at Addington with Barterville, finishing 2nd and 5th in Foxhunter classes with Euro Kenco and a win and 3 places in Newcomers and Discovery classes with the 4 year old, Arizona W. More news from our other riders next month.

Burning News

Welcome to Neil Clow, who is joining our sales team to work in the north west of England and Ireland. Neil joins us just in time for BETA International, the equestrian industry's premier trade exhibition of the year where buyers from retailers throughout the UK, Europe and beyond will see what's in store for next season. Blaze will be showing our collection for Autumn/Winter 2008/2009 – and there are some exciting new products on their way!

Bright Sparks

Congratulations to the winner of our December competition, Grace Thompson of Cumbria, who wins a Saddler top and a Dujon hat, glove and scarf set.

Design Director, Lisa Richardson

Help Lisa!

What with all the new stuff coming along, our Design Director, Lisa Richardson, is very busy. So why don't you give her hand in our Spring competition, and show us just how creative you can be! We would like you to design a Blaze t-shirt. The design can be whatever you like, but bear in mind that we will produce the winning entry as a limited edition to be sold this summer and we will be supporting the Animal Health Trust with a donation from each t-shirt sold. Your design should be emailed to us at marketing@blazeclothing.co.uk and the closing date for entries is 30th June 2008.

The Animal Health Trust (AHT) is the only charity specifically dedicated to improving the health and welfare of horses, dogs, and cats by addressing the problems of disease and injury - the biggest threats to animal welfare in the UK today. For over half a century, the AHT has been researching ways of developing better means of diagnosing and treating diseases of companion animals. Its two clinics, one for dogs and cats and one for horses, provide specialist referral services to the veterinary profession. Receiving no government funding, it is only through the generosity of its supporters that they are able to successfully achieve their goal.
